Inglourious Basterds (USA, 2009)

When I go to the cinema these days, I want to be dragged in and strapped down by a glassy-tongued freak with popcorn stains on his retina, who then whispers in my ear that he’s going to show me something I’ve never seen before, and then does exactly that.
So I really enjoyed this movie a heck of a lot.
Pearce is right in saying there’s no resonance to it. Nevertheless, it was enough of the film I wanted it to be that I was well pleased.

  1. I’ve always been one to think QT is overrated. BUT, I still will see the movie. I just saw Ponyo today, being a Miyazaki fan, and I fell asleep! It was too kiddie-oriented, and less imaginative than his other work. Still beautiful to look at though, and I’d rather my littler sister see this than many crappier Hollywood flix.
I can tell you I am excited for the Fantastic Mr Fox, directed by Wes Anderson (which was not mentioned at all in the preview before Ponyo…)
