  3. When I got in the lift the other day, the guy who got in before me said “Level 7, right?” and pushed that button for me.

    I said, “Uh, no level 15 please.” Level 7 is Sidhe Interactive, who make computer games.

    “Oh, sorry!” he said. “But you do work in IT, right?”

    “No.”

    He was still apologising when he got off at his own floor. 🙂

Love the space shuttle link… still remember watching the first launch of Columbia and totally believing that people would be living on the moon or even Mars by now… I was struck by a couple of obvious things… how the surface of the shuttle is not smooth (yes i do understand about debris and re-entry and stuff, just had a romantic childhood image), white and shiny and by the size of the fuel tankswhich I had somehow previously ignored (because they didn’t fit with my romantic childhood image). I can’t see the space programme as a waste of resources though… it is such a beautiful idea!
