You should all know about this: a website created specifically to keep you informed of whether or not the Large Hadron Collider has destroyed the earth.
It is the best way to stay abreast of the news in this area.

Thanks for that invaluable link. I’ll be checking back on it every hour or so.
Ha! I wonder whether WInston Peters designed that one?
I can’t wait for it to say YES!
Unfortunately, this site is useless as it stands. It obviously needs an email notification option or a RSS feed so that if the earth gets destroyed I can find out about it without having to keep going back and visiting the site. Oh well. I guess I shall have to go back to getting my earth-destruction updates from reliable sources as TVNZ’s scientifically astute and in no way comically credulous breakfast programme.
Before the world ends, I have just enough time to credit Angus Abranson for directing me to that informative site.

har har har…
@Ivan – it has an RSS feed. Otherwise it’d just be silly. Try http://www.hasthelhcdestroyedtheearth.com/rss.xml.
Have you watched the video abot the LHC on the New Scientist site (http://www.newscientist.com/video.ns?bctid=1785292087&DCMP=ILC-hmts&nsref=specrt10_head_Inside%20the%20LHC) and checked out the Nature news special (http://www.nature.com/news/specials/lhc/index.html). That is one totally space age piece of lab equipment!
