  1. Somebody I knew at primary school had this, but I can’t remember who. I hope it wasn’t myself since I must have trashed it.

  2. Hmmm: I remember reading a straight narrative version of this story years and years ago on a family holiday (found a copy of it on the shelves of the house we were renting). This was before the advent of Choose Your Own Adventure books but there was definitely a lost tribe involved, and lots of clever well-spoken blond people coming across them in dimly-lit clearings, causing them to flit like frightened fawns. I believe it was published during the 70s, hence the dodgy racial politic, which reminded me of the Willard Price adventure books – anyone remember them.
    Didn’t really do girl books when I was a kid, as you can probably tell.

  4. I wa abig fan of the Wilard Price novels, despite that they were all basically exactly the same story – couldn’t get enough of those boys on their adventures!

    I loved those Willard Price novels. I actually read ‘Volcano Adventure’ last year. It was very exciting.
