This one time, I went along to a birthday gathering where I didn’t know many people, and there was a girl there with fascinating decorated trousers, with beads and patches and even a mirror.
By way of making conversation, I walked up to her and said, in reference to the mirror, “I can see myself in your pants.”
It took me a moment to realise that could be taken in two ways.

I was discussing how valuable time could be, and said “Sometimes you really just want that extra minute.”
It took me a moment to consider what that might be refering to (I was talking about really needing to photocopy something before a class).
To which she should of course have replied, “No, I doubt they’d fit you.”
“…but I’m just your size!”
Brilliant, I hope that you made a new friend.
You so knew what you were about.
I think I was at that party. Surely that is not as embarrasing as pouring your drink on the floor when the pretty girl you have been spading for the last hour asks you the time.
