Welly Crowd: Hot Fuzz preview

(special message for non-Wellingtonians at conclusion of post)
Wellingtonians!
As noted a week ago on my LJ, there will be a MySpace related sneak preview of Hot Fuzz tonight. Hot Fuzz is the new film by the Shaun of the Dead guys, and has been getting wonderful chatter from the UK.
Also, it is presented by Peter Jackson, who has a cameo in the film.
Also, the Shaun of the Dead guys (Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Edgar Wright) will all be in attendance.
Also, the preview is free. Just turn up.
Queues will be tolerated from 4pm. Session starts at 6.30. Venue is, of course, the Embassy. Get along! More info here.

Don’t you wish you were in Wellington?

  1. I am Jack’s non-raging sense of envy, as I’m along immediately after work. Rumour is there’s already someone queuing up.
Now I’m getting the reverberant doubt: when should we start queueing? Can we leverage Heather’s advanced pregnancy to get a decent seat? If we get there at 5, will it be too late? Ah, paranoia.

  2. Oh, and another tip – the previous movie, “The Last King of Scotland”, starts at 3:30 and lasts two hours. Thus don’t expect to get into the theatre much south of 6. Should be good tho.

  3. As of 12:40 today, there was a queue of six people outside the Embassy. I’ve got my folding chair ready.

  4. Latest news: as of 1.45, there are only 8 in the queue for Hot Fuzz. (Thanks to Fraser for the update!)
    That’s 2% of the 400 seats…

  5. I wish I was in Wellington! (so what’s new) I’ll be there tomorrow, but that’s not much use.
I haven’t been to a movie since James was born.

  6. P.S. I am still a Wellingtonian aren’t I? Please don’t tell me I’ve been excluded on the grounds of temporary provincialness.
