This deserves to be widely read: the mayor of Bogota (Colombia) who used mimes, superman costumes and thumbs-up cards to turn around a city on the edge of chaos. It’ll restore your confidence in human beings, and increase your frustration with the ill-built systems that negatively structure so much of our behaviour.
Located by the other moose, unsurprisingly. Go read his blog, it is always interesting. Although, fewer pictures of birds, more pictures of boys tearing their skulls apart.

And now the challenge is over. I saw your flicker pics and think they are very cool. Although maybe not as cool as your native bird pics here, ’cause those birdies don’t often stay still long enough for such lovely pics. Except Kereru. They can stay still for a *long* time.
I can vouch for the Kereru comment. I once attended an outdoor wedding where there was a kereru high up in the trees above the happy couple. It stayed there all through the ceremony and afterwards during the revelry.
And at the “man and wife” anouncement, it promptly shat on one of the bridesmaids.
…and they say FANTAILS are bad omens 🙂
