Headshot Linky

While the voting continues apace in previous-post (midnight tonight NZ time is when I count ’em up and apply the result to my Twitter account), here be some linky.

David Tennant, post Doctor Who, went the House route and got a U.S. pilot. It wasn’t picked up but a clip from the pilot has emerged. Enjoy David’s accent here (because there isn’t much else to enjoy – this is so by-the-numbers it hurts).

Here is some well-expressed love for the KLF’s Doctorin’ the Tardis. I was holding my cassingle of this just the other day. Linky includes .pdf of KLF’s “The Manual” about how to get a #1 single, whose rules were famously not followed by the KLF themselves.

Steve Leon introduced me to the sublime Smarthistory, an art history site with excellent, deep, tempting content.

More Star-Wars-reinterpretation. Young Daniel Logan (Boba Fett in the preview trilogy) made this Stormtrooper helmet as Maori carving; and Victorian interpretations of Star Wars characters.

As the US political scene races further and further away from sanity: I’m voting Tea Party.

You are not so smart – read this blog and you might become a bit more smarterer.

Simply incredible: Real-Life Superheroes. Whatever your expectations are, this will exceed them. (via Bleeding Cool.)

Words to use if you really want to win at hangman.

And finally: Pulp Fiction redubbed with Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck voices. I don’t know why either.

  1. Nice one on the FreakyTrigger link – one of my favourite blogs of the past few years and almost a daily visit for their Popular column. I thought they were VERY kind to DitT considering the bile they heaped on its satanic predecessor Star Trekkin’!

  2. Re hangman – I’ve actually pondered this before and came up with “jazz” as a really nasty word to use. So yay :-). A friend recommended “oat” as an easy winning word. Everyone gets “at” quickly, but then there are so many possibilities – and people tend to think consonants and vowels should alternate, so oat is thought of last (if at all).

Plus, with the _at scheme, if you keep a list of all the possible words in your head, you can also cheat by changing the target as people guess letters..

  3. Damn I miss the KLF, their great music and all round awesomeness. Remember when they burnt a great big pile of money?

Have fond memories of the video for DitT, notably the cool car and foot propelled daleks. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hfkGEqu_yPU

The car (or a version of it) would later feature in KLF videos.

  4. Pearce – I moved additiverich.com to a different server the other day and got rid of the redirects. There’s every chance you’re still subscribed to Morgue’s RSS feed there — might pay to resubscribe to the one here explicitly.
